  1917 Group of alumnae open cooperative dormitory which is quickly overcrowded
  1918 Barnard Hall's third floor houses the only library

  1924 Barnard commissions McKim, Mead & White to design west wing to Brooks Hall to extend along Claremont Avenue
  1925 October 30 -- Deanery is complete; Dean Gildersleeve resides in the duplex apartment at the north end of Hewitt Hall for twenty-one years

  1930 Class of 1930 gives 2 benches outside Milbank Hall

  1933 October 15 -- Barnard Camp's Grand Opening
  1935 Barnard purchases land between 119th and 120th streets, to west of campus.  Plans for new academic building begin
  1944 Class of 1944 restores front gates in honor of Helen Hartley Jenkins Geer, BC '15
