- Served as actual president of Columbia (fifth president), 1801-11.
- Accepted rectorship of Trinity Church, New York City, in 1800.
- Was consecrated bishop of New York in 1801
- His duties as bishop were assumed by his assistant John H. Hobart, in 1811 because of
Moore's paralysis.
